Battlegrounds Mobile India, often known as BGMI, mysteriously vanished from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store on Thursday. Krafton, the publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India, notified BGR India that it is investigating the incident. BGMI reached 100 million users earlier this month, but the company’s path to the Indian gaming sector has not been smooth. After the prohibition in India in 2020, Krafton published BGMI in India as a sugarcoated version of PUBG Mobile.
According to Krafton, who spoke to BGR India, “We are clarifying how BGMI was deleted from Google Play store and the App store and will let you know soon we have particular information.”
Google has verified that the government’s directives led to the removal of Battlegrounds Mobile India, while Krafton is investigating. Google issued a statement saying, “Upon receipt of the decision, in accordance with the established procedure, we have contacted the impacted developer and have disabled access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.
Battlegrounds Mobile’s delisting occurs shortly after the event in Lucknow when a youngster is accused of shooting his mother. An inquiry was initiated after the event, but nothing conclusive has been found thus yet. It is unclear, however, whether the event had anything to do with Battlegrounds Mobile India’s removal from the iOS and Android app stores.
