In a tweet, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple is experiencing quality control concerns with the iPhone 14 rear camera lens, which is causing some lenses to break owing to a coating.
“One more quality issue. According to my most recent study, one of Genius’ iPhone 14 rear lenses most likely had coating-crack quality difficulties. “Apple has moved around 10 million lens orders from Genius to Largan in order to avoid disrupting iPhone 14 delivery,” the analyst noted on Twitter.
According to Kuo, the impact on iPhone 14 shipments may practically be overlooked since Taiwan-based Largan can easily bridge the supply gap. “Based on previous experience, the lens coating-crack problem should be resolved within 1-2 months.” However, if Genius is unable to resolve the issue, Largan will continue to get orders,” he said.
The future iPhone 14 models are expected to receive camera enhancements, with camera bumps increasing by roughly 5% on Pro versions. Furthermore, all iPhone 14 models may receive an improved Ultra Wide camera on the back, while iPhone Pro versions may see considerable enhancements to the main wide-angle camera and telephoto lens.
